Ship Rigs
As I am still ironing out this system, this will be added to when I add/change things.
first thing...
on testing server, rigs are not destroyed when removing from ship.
on live server (when we open alpha), rigs will permanently lose hitpoints when removed.
removal of a rig will also increase the rigs calibration cost.
there is no way to repair rigs or recover lost hitpoints.
RP/reasoning behind this:
as rig is basically an electrical/mechanical hack to ship systems, removing this hack as a system (the rig) will cause it to be damaged.
to mitigate this damage, as it cannot be 'fixed', it will be subsequently harder to install on the next ship, thus higher calibration cost.
from a 'real life' perspective, i think of removing rigs as cutting out modifications. you may have to cut wires short, strip screw threads or other not-so-nice things (like bfh) to remove the modification.
because of this, it will be more difficult to install this modification into the next victim.
at this time, rigs are working quite well, and i dont foresee changing very much else with them.
note that when ships are destroyed, no rigs will survive the destruction.
salvage operations may find rigs on occasion.
these are not installed rigs, but units carried in cargo.
